Hindi spent 10+ years working in the fashion industry for corporate fashion giants (including Ralph Lauren and BCBG Max Azria), small businesses, private labels (Ann Taylor, Talbots, Chico’s), start-ups (Fashion Nova), and in consulting. She’s worked as a global merchandiser for Ralph Lauren and launched the global merchandising division for BCBG Max Azria handbags and accessories. A big part of her role in those merchandising positions was to forecast upcoming trends and identify opportunities for business development. She went on to develop a brand of yoga wear/athleisure and launched it on Kickstarter in Nov ’15 doubling her goal with $25K in pre-sales. For the athleisure brand, she did the sourcing, oversaw and documented production, ran marketing campaigns, shot & directed commercials and photo shoots, and hosted pop-up shops & trade shows. Over the course of her career, she has worked with the full spectrum of products, at price points high and low.

Hindi’s skills enable me to create data-driven assortments, forecast trends, set pricing, drive category growth, develop new talent, and lead enterprising teams. I specialize in curating assortments that tell a cohesive story across product categories. While running my e-commerce start-up, I had the opportunity to explore product management – I built tech products by creating a lean canvas, did mock-ups in Balsamiq, wrote user stories in JIRA, and estimated points/did backlog grooming with engineers to customize the shopping experience for users.

Hindi Jain also has her own clothing link, the words collection. The mission of this collection is to create meaningful clothes that promote equality for humanity. This brand aspires to raise awareness for positivity in people’s lives and in the world around them. The clothes will be meaningful with inspiring words and generate certain curiosity about humanity with the exotic trims sourced from around the world.
